The National School of Drama conducts an entrance examination for admission to three-year full-time Diploma Course for those intending to make theatre their profession. The screening of applicants is carried out in two stages.

The preliminary screening comprises of an interview or practical test of the candidates. National School of Drama is the most popular and excited institute funded by the Government of India, Ministry of Culture. This school is build up by the Sangeet Natak academy that provides candidates to grow their characters in the field of drama.
Eligibility Criteria :
- Candidate should have graduated from the recognized University to be eligible for this course.
- Candidate should have took part in at least 6 productions.
- Candidate should have working knowledge of Hindi and English
- Candidate must be of minimum 20 years and should not be more than 30 years of age. However candidates belong to the reservation categories as well as from the defense background are offered a relaxation of three years in the upper age limit.
- Candidate has to fit to be eligible for this course.
- Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of permission of fitness test.
Examination Format/Pattern
Selection based on Entrance Test, Group Dissection and Personal Interview.
