SLIET Entrance Test is the most popular entrance examination and conducted by the Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology SLIET which is affiliated to Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar.

Eligibility
- For Certificate Courses - The applicant must have passed the 10th exam from a recognized university with English, Mathematics & Science as compulsory subjects.

This institute offers certificate, diploma, graduate & undergraduate degree courses. In order to get admission in any one of these, you have to clear the SLIET Entrance Test also well known as SET.

- For Diploma Courses - The applicant must have either passed the certificate course from SLIET or have passed the 12th exam with Physics, mathematics as mandatory subjects along with either biology or chemistry or Computer science or Biotechnology.
- For Undergraduate Degree Courses - The candidate must have passed the diploma course from either SLIET or any other recognized university.
- For Postgraduate degree Courses - Should have the B.E. or B.Tech engineering degree Or M.Sc. degree.
Examination Format/Pattern
There are six sets. All the questions are objective types. Each paper has 100 objective questions where each question carries 1 mark. Each set consists of 2 papers of 2hrs each except for SET VI. There is no negative marking for wrong attempt.
Exam Related Dates
(SLIET) is a national level institute established by Government of India through Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). The university offers diploma certifications, degree courses at high levels including Ph.d levels. This is the first university that offers B. Tech degree courses to students who have done Diploma in any discipline.

The Entrance Tests conducted for admission to Certificate, Diploma, Degree and PG Programme is termed as SLIET Entrance Test-I (SET-I), SLIET Entrance Test-II (SET-II), SLIET Entrance Test-III (SET-III) and SLIET Entrance Test-VI (SET-VI), respectively. Besides these, Entrance Test named SLIET Entrance Test-IV (SET-IV) and SLIET Entrance Test-V (SET-V) are also conducted for admission to Vertical Entry seats of Diploma Programme and Degree Programme respectively for SLIET students.
