Post Matric Scholarships

The post-matric scholarships are given to students of minority communities who are pursuing studies after the completion of 10th standard.

CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY:
  • The scholarships are open to nationals of India.
The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the Scheduled Tribe students studying at post matriculation or post-secondary stage to enable them to complete their education. These post matric scholarships are available for studies in India only and are awarded by the Government of the State/Union Territory Administration to which the applicant essentially belongs.
  • These school matric scholarships will be given for the study of all recognized post-matriculation for post-secondary courses pursued in recognized institutions.
  • Only those candidates and students who belong to Scheduled Tribes so specified in relation to the State/Union Territory to which the applicant actually belongs, who have passed the Matriculation or Higher Secondary or any higher examination of a recognized University or Board of Secondary Education, will be eligible.
  • Candidates and students who after passing one stage of education are studying in the same stage of education in a different subject.
  • Students and candidates who, after having completed their educational career in one professional line, wish to study for another profession.



Post Matric Scholarships in India and abroad


The objective of the Scheme is to provide financial assistance to the Other Backward Classes (OBC) students studying at post matriculation or post secondary stage to enable them to complete their education. These post matric scholarships shall be available for studies in India only and will be awarded by the Government of State/ Union Territory to which the applicant actually belongs, i.e. permanently settled, 100% central aid will be offered to State Governments/UT Administrations for this purpose.



The scholarship is to be awarded for studies in India only:
Conditions for scholarship:
  1. To be eligible, students should have not less than 50% marks in the previous final examination.
  2. The annual income, from all sources, of the student's parents or guardian should not exceed Rs. 2 lakh. Students from BPL families, having the lowest income shall be given preference in the ascending order.
  3. A scholarship holder under this scheme will not avail of any other scholarship/ stipend for pursuing the same course.
  4. 30% of scholarship will be earmarked for girl students. In case girl students are not available then the scholarship earmarked for them will be awarded to eligible boy students.
  5. Maintenance allowance will be credited to the Students and candidates bank account.
  6. Scholarships will not be given to more than two students in a family.
