About Jai Prakash University:
Popularly known as Jai Prakash Vishwavidyalaya, Jai Prakash University (JPU) was established in 1990 by the enactment of Section 3(b) of Bihar State Universities Act, 1976.

Jai Prakash University was established with the aim of providing educational programs at Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate levels. Since its inception, the university has made significant contribution to the academic sector of Bihar in Chapra region. The University is also the member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
JPU covers the entire spectrum of higher education, and it has 21 constituent and 11 affiliated colleges. The courses offered by the university are approved from University Grants Commission (UGC) of India.
