Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga Sanskrit University (KSDSU), more popularly known as the Dhrabhanga University was established in 1961.

Recognised by UGC, KSDSU is not funded by the Grants Commission. The university is situated in District Darbhanga of Bihar State. It has jurisdiction over entire State of Bihar. The University provides courses at Intermediate, Graduate and Postgraduate level and conducts research work.
The University has an exclusive collection of manuscripts related to the epics, philosophy, vyakarana, dharmashastra, agama, tantra etc. Being the first of its kind, KSDSU has a collection of nearly 5562 rare manuscripts that also includes manuscripts of the Ramayana, Gitagovinda, Srimadbhagavata and Durga Saptasati etc.
