About Magadh University:
One of the largest universities of Bihar and India, Magadh University (MU) was established in 1962. It is a state university and has been recognized by the University Grant Commission (UGC). The University is also the member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

The territorial jurisdiction of the university extends over the districts of Gaya, Jehanabad, Patna, Nalanda, Nawada and Aurangabad.
Magadh University now has 24 Post Graduate Departments, 85 affiliated and 44 Constituent Colleges. The University offers post graduate study courses at its campus in Bodh Gaya. Several other colleges, offering degree courses, are affiliated to Magadh University. Along with conventional courses, several professional/vocational courses like Business Administration, Computer Application, Environmental Science, Tourism & Travel Management, Counseling & Rehabilitation, Journalism & Mass Communication are conducted in different constituent / affiliated colleges of the University.
