About Patna University:
Patna University (PU) was established in 1917 under an Act of Legislature and is the first university in Bihar and 7th in India.

During its establishment year the University had jurisdiction over Bihar, Orissa and Nepal. The University is a member of Association of Indian Universities and is recognised by UGC.
The University has a full-fledged Law College, Teachers' Training College along with Engineering and Medical Colleges. At present the University has 9 Faculties, 32 PG Departments, and 11 Colleges to its credit. Patna University offers several conventional as well as professional courses. Providing regular courses to a large group of learners, Patna university also facilitates other aspirants by offering education through distance learning mode.
