About Pandit Sundarlal Sharma Open University:
Pandit Sundarlal Sharma Open University (PSSOU) was established on 20 January 2005 under Chhattisgarh legislature with the mission to spread education through distance learning mode at different levels like certificate, diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate to people living in Chhattisgarh region where regular education is not accessible and to educate the people who can not attend regular classes.

To fulfill the responsibilities of spreading education through Distance, the university has opened regional centers in four different places namely Raipur, Bastar, Ambikapur, and Bilaspur. The university is recognized by the UGC and Distance Education Council (DEC), New Delhi.
The university offers special distance learning programmes for handicap students which differs the varsity from other conventional universities. The university imparts virtual instructions through distance education rather than face-to-face communication. The University has been structured into 6 main faculties: Faculty of Arts, Social Science, Science & Technology, Education, Commerce and Management Studies.
