About Jawaharlal Nehru University(JNU):
Jawaharlal Nehru University(JNU) was established in 1969 to fulfill the objective of promoting the study of principles of national integration, social justice, secularism, democratic way of life, international understanding and scientific approach in solving the problems of society. The university has been named after Jawaharlal Nehru, the first prime minister of india.

JNU is mainly a research oriented postgraduate University with about 5500 students and over 500 faculty staff. The University is a member of The Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Over the years, it has been a model university in terms of academic excellence. Being unique of its kind in India, it is truly multinational and multicultural. The objective of the university is to promote research and teaching leading to the increasing engagement of its students and teachers in higher level academic work and national and international policy making.
At present, the Jawaharlal Nehru University conducts postgraduate programs in field of Literature and

Culture Studies, Bio Technology Life Sciences, Environmental Sciences, International Studies, Language, Information Technology, Arts and Aesthetics and Computer and Systems Sciences. JNU is the only university in the country that provides free coaching facility to the aspirants willing to get admission in the university. It is a good experience for students belonging to different backgrounds to interact with the other students present in the class.
