About Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth:
Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth was established in 1962. The institute was granted the status of a deemed to be University in November 1987.

The main aim of the Institute is to provide facilities for the study of such languages and literature of Asia that have a bearing on Sanskrit studies viz. Pali, Iranian, Tibetan, Mongolian, Chinese, Japanese etc.
At present, the Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth has four faculties that offer courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate level. The first three faculties provide study and the teaching facilities with a view to obtaining degrees of three-year courses of Shastri, Shastri (Hons) and the two-year course of Acharya in different disciplines of the Sanskrit studies.

The fourth faculty provides the teaching facilities for completion of one year teacher- training course called Shiksha Shastri and one year course for advanced study in Shiksha Shastra called Shikshacharya.
