Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT) University was established in 1962 under the aegis of Ahmedabad Education Society (AES), a premier voluntary non-profit organization.

CEPT is an esteemed university offering undergraduate and post graduate degree programs in Natural and Built Environment. The aim of CEPT University is to impart higher education in technology and developmental sciences to students. CEPT has accorded the status of a university by an Act of 2005 passed by the Gujarat State Legislative Assembly in 2005.
The University offers various undergraduate and postgraduate courses with main focus is on modern architecture in India and urban and regional planning, on the issues concerning construction and technology, and interior design. It offers cutting-edge specialization programmes with management skills.
