About Gujarat University:
The oldest and biggest university in the state of Gujarat, Gujarat University (GU) was established on 23rd November, 1949. It has been providing quality education in various domains.

Gujarat University is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and is fully recognized by UGC. It has got B++ grade from National Assessment and Accreditation Council, NAAC also. The university was declared teaching and affiliating university by the state government. It is an affiliating University at the undergraduate level and a teaching one at the postgraduate level. In course of time, seven Universities were created out of it which includes Sardar Patel University, Saurashtra University, Bhavnagar University, South Gujarat University, Gujarat Ayurveda University, Gujarat Agricultural University and North Gujarat University.

The University has two hundred and thirty five colleges. The University has thirty-four postgraduate departments and two hundred and twenty one postgraduate centers. The affiliated colleges are well known for medical, engineering and technology, pharmacy and management colleges.
The University offers Doctorate, Postgraduate, Undergraduate, Diploma and Certificate Courses in several fields. These programmes are interdisciplinary in nature and take care of not only the present needs of the students but also the job prospects at the regional and national level.
