About Gujarat Vidyapith:
Founded by Mahatma Gandhi on October 18, 1920, Gujarat Vidyapith was established to protest against the British education policy that was imposed upon by Lord Macaulay. The university acquired the status of a deemed university in 1963 for giving quality education.

Gujarat Vidyapith is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and is fully recognized and funded by UGC. The University is well-known for imparting higher education in a planned manner, teaching from the Nursery to the Doctorate level.
The University offers undergraduate courses, postgraduate courses and Phd Courses. The university is still maintained its commitment to Gandhian ideals, human studies, social service and development work inspite of modernization in infrastructure and curriculum. Gujarat Vidyapith is well known to provide numerous facilities to students such as, a well-maintained library, hostel accommodation to students, sports, social and other cultural programs.
