About Sardar Patel University:
Sardar Patel University was established in 1955 under an act of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly. The university is named after independence leader Shree Sardar Vallabhai Patel who founded the university.

Sardar Patel University was recognised under 2f of the UGC Act in October 1968 and also holds the membership of the Association of Indian Universities. Sardar Patel University was accredited with the four star status by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council and became the first university among all the Univesities in Gujarat to volunteer for the accreditation in 2000.
The University has several post-graduate departments and a number of affiliated colleges under its wing. The University offers educational courses at the graduate, post graduate, diploma and PhD levels covering almost every discipline of knowledge.
