Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat (NIT Surat) is one of the 20 National Institutes of Technology (NITs) established in India in June 1961. It is named after India's first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. This institute was upgraded to a National Institute of Technology as per the NIT Act .It is a deemed university and UGC recognized.
