The iit ropar is one of the eight institutes that are formed as part of the new set of Indian Institute of Technology that will be formed under The Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 2011. It is well supported by the Ministry of Human Resource Development MHRD, Government of India along with the State Government that focuses in building the perfect environment for the students to be well acquainted with the different form of learning that are present here. It is also known as the Indian Institute of Technology Punjab (IIT Punjab), and was created in 2008 and in its initial years that classes were held in IIT Delhi never the less after the completion of the campus it is now in its own campus.
