It is has one of the largest college grounds that is located 120 kilometers away from the west of Kolkatta. The institute has been designed and made under the leadership of Werner M. Moser, a Swiss architect that is present in the 8.5 square kilometers. It has 20,000 inhabitants along with 470 faculty members, 1,933 employees and approximately 5,500 students within it.
The campus has twenty-one students hostels of which ten are for the undergraduate male students and two for the female students. There is also the presence of separate departments and faculties that are inclusive of the library and laboratories for separate academic sections. In relation there is also the presence of The Nehru Museum of Science and Technology that are inclusive the technical models that are brought from throughout the country. It also has world class auditoriums, conference halls, mess halls and sports facilities.
