IIT Roorkee Admissions
Admission to undergraduate courses is through an All-India entry test called combined Entrance Examination, conducted by all the seven IITs in the country. IIT Roorkee offers eleven courses under its B.Tech programme. The institute also presents five-year double degree programmes wherein both B.Tech and M.Tech degrees are awarded. The Graduate ability Test in Engineering (GATE) is conducted at the all India level. Candidates willing to unite the postgraduate programmes in Technology, Engineering, Architecture, and pharmacy have to pass this test. The combined Management Entrance Test (JMET) is conducted for admission to the management programmes of all IITs and IISc. However, the application has to be made individually for admission to every institute. The Joint Admission Test for MSc is a common entrance exam for admission to the diverse postgraduate programmes and 3-year post B.Sc programmes.
